I am planning to buy Iphone 8 GB, I would like to know the following:
1. Can I unlock the iphone to work on any carrier?
2. How can I do it?
3. Has anybody been successfully be able to unlock the iphone?
4. Which software did you use? Please advice, so that I could move ahead and buy the phone.

It is possible, but only by hacking into the phone itself. Now that apple and AT&T have found that the iphone can be hacked, it would be almost impossible to use the phone on another carrier besides AT&T. This is because AT&T has a contract with apple to have the iphone be exclusive to only them. I think AT&T and apple have now sent out signals to the iphones to just lock out any and all usage if not on an AT&T plan. Even if you get one already unlocked, it won't work because apple would have just locked it out when it finds it. If you plan on getting an iphone, get one through AT&T since they are the only ones who are authorized to sell it right now.
